A Love of the Fresh Air
Jean, one of our residents, loves spending time in the garden and getting some fresh air.
During the summer months, she especially enjoys eating her meals outside and would often spend most of her day in the garden. This brings her a lot of happiness.
Companion Ann Marie suggested taking Jean for a wheelchair walk around the garden on a sunny but cloudy day. Jean was delighted at the idea and said, “Yes, please, dear. I would love that so much!” Ann Marie reminded Jean to wrap up warm as it was a little chilly outside, but Jean reassured her, saying, “Oh, don’t worry about me, dear. I’ll be fine.”
Resident Valerie and her husband Jim joined us on our walk in the garden, which made Jean’s day even brighter. Being outside lifted Jean’s spirits and improved her mood, which had been a bit low. By enabling Jean to do something she really enjoys, we were able to bring joy to her day, and she remained in high spirits for the rest of the day.
