Apple Pie Anyone

12 August 2024

While we were sitting in the garden recently, enjoying a lovely cup of tea and a slice of cake, we spotted an apple tree.

We were all really surprised at how many juicy red apples there were, and even better, they were ready to be picked. Ann Marie suggested that we should pick a few and make an apple pie. “Oh yes,” a few replied in agreement.

So, we picked lots and took them along to our chef, so he could peel and stew them with only a little bit of sugar, as they are so deliciously sweet straight from the tree. Once the chef made the pie for us, we enjoyed it with some fresh cream.

We also savoured the freshly baked smell from the pie and the sweet scent of the home-grown apples. “That was delicious; our next project should be an apple and sultana strudel!” exclaimed June.
