Celebration Of Song In The Garden
Today, The Aldbury joined us for a Celebration of Song in the garden.
This is the third year we have held a garden performance with The Aldbury, created and organised by Fiona Pritchard, Colten Care’s Music & Arts Partner. Fiona is dedicated to bringing music and arts to improve the well-being, reminiscence, and quality of life of all residents. Fiona said, “Celebration of Song began after lockdown and is a lovely sentiment and focus around music.”
All residents benefited from being together in the sunshine and joining in with the singing. There were lots of smiles and support, especially from June after resident Dori reached the amazing high notes while singing ‘Edelweiss’. “She’s very good, isn’t she? Well done,” June exclaimed. When Fiona asked Dori what the nicest thing about singing with others was, she answered, “It’s a feeling of being together, and you get to enjoy the moment.”
Such lovely words from Dori, which all residents agreed with. There was lots of chatter and reminiscence over the cream tea afterward, and The Aldbury thanked us for inviting them.
