Christmas Post
There were some very special deliveries this week.
Companion Ann Marie thought it would be lovely to have our very own Christmas post box as there are always so many cards sent around the home from residents, staff, and families.
“I wanted a special and personable way of sharing our Christmas cards between staff, families, and residents,” said Ann Marie.
Residents helped create and paint a beautiful red post box finished with snow and tinsel. The post box sits in reception; at the end of the week, residents take our special red sack to collect, sort, and deliver the cards around the home. “I’ve always wanted to deliver post!” said Gwen.
The residents also sit together to read the post with a lovely cup of tea, creating a beautiful Christmas social time. “This is such fun,” said Kiki. Meanwhile, other residents and staff commented that it is a lovely way to meet everyone at Fernhill.
