Community Tea Dance for Dementia Action Week

It was truly heart-warming to see how much our residents enjoyed an afternoon at the Community Tea Dance, hosted at The Old School House in Boscombe.
Organised in celebration of Dementia Action Week, this special event was held in partnership with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra (BSO), The Old School House, NIHR, and supported by the NHS Dementia Team.
With free tickets generously provided, our residents were treated to a slice of homemade cake and a cup of tea. We also enjoyed a beautiful live music performed by the talented Teatime Trio from the BSO, setting the perfect tone for an afternoon of joy and connection.
As soon as the music began, our residents couldn’t resist the call of the dance floor. Our resident Kiki was a shining star — introducing herself to others and spreading kindness wherever she went.
This inclusive event, designed especially for those living with dementia and their carers, was also supported by various organisations committed to dementia care.
A special thank you to BSO Coordinator Evie Allsopp and Senior Programme Manager Sue Sharpe, who were both thrilled to see our residents having such an amazing time.
