Cream Tea’s at Holmsley Old Station Tea Room
Today we had a lovely scenic drive through the New Forest to go for a cream tea at ‘The Old Station Tea Rooms’ in Homsley.
“Oh, I haven’t been here in a while, how lovely,” said Joyce on arrival. “This will be a lovely treat, “agreed June, as we found our table. Once we sat down, we chose what type of scone and jam we were each going to have, the debate about how to pronounce scone started quickly, with Companion Cara being the only one to pronounce it different, “You must all be northerners,” she said, making them all laugh. “Well do you put you jam or cream on first?” asked driver Karen. June did both the Devon way and Cornwall way with her scone, “Just get on and eat it,” she said.
Everyone stopped talking as we all devoured our scrumptious scones, “It’s very quiet,” said Nora. “That’s the beauty of them,” answered Joyce, “so delicious.”
Everyone agreed what a lovely afternoon we had and how fantastically full we were. “What a nice treat, thank you for taking me.” Exclaimed Nora!
