Mother’s Day

30 March 2025

We had a lovely time celebrating Mother’s Day.

The day started with the Companions gifting different coloured tulips and chocolates, whilst residents read Mother’s Day cards and poems.

We then had a wonderful reminiscence about what we love best about our mothers.

“Her baking,” said June.

“When she didn’t tell me off!” joked Michele.

“My mother was blind,” Kiki told us, “It was our job to be her eyes for her. She was an amazing mother; she cooked, cleaned, and sewed blind!”

In the afternoon, everyone was treated to a beautiful afternoon tea – including delicious cupcakes with fresh raspberries dipped in chocolate.
