National Cheese Day Celebration

Fernhill residents enjoyed celebrating National Cheese Day by having a selection of cheeses and grapes, all washed down with a glass of wine and some cheesy jokes.

Kiki said, “I would happily celebrate cheese day any day, especially when accompanied by a glass of red wine!” Administrator Saskia said what a treat on a cloudy Tuesday afternoon and Nora gave companion Cara a cheer with her glass when she visited her with the cheese and wine trolley. Rob liked the selection of cheeses and could not wait for them to be unwrapped, saying the brie and stilton were the best.

Residents were grinning and groaning to the companion’s cheesy jokes. Ron’s favourite was “What did the cheese say when he quoted Shakespeare? – To brie or not to brie, that is the question.” June laughed the most at “What kind of cheese do witches like? – Scream cheese.”

It was a fun and delicious afternoon that all enjoyed, Kiki said, “Same time next week?” and laughed.
