Watering The Vegetables Down on The Allotments
We took a stroll down Fernhill’s community shared allotment plot today.
All the vegetables are growing well with the constant sunshine and rain we have had lately. The spring onions, beans, lettuce, and tomatoes still needed a good watering, which resident Richard helped companion Miezy with.
‘Oh look,’ exclaimed Richard as he pulled out a carrot. ‘Nearly ready to eat,’ said Miezy. ‘Just a few more weeks, and we can come back to harvest.’ ‘They will be good to eat soon, too,’ said June, as she pointed to the ripening tomatoes.
After all the watering was done, we took a well-earned rest in the sunshine, listening to the birds singing in the trees overhead. Everyone agreed that it is so peaceful here, and that we should make sure to come back soon to do some more watering and relaxing!”
