Chinese New Year Celebrations

19 February 2026

Residents at Kingfishers came together to celebrate Chinese New Year in our brightly decorated activities room, filled with colourful lanterns and festive touches.

The evening offered a mix of creativity and culture, as residents made their own Chinese lanterns, each reflecting their personal style.

We explored the Chinese zodiac, learning about the different animal signs and their meanings, sparking lively conversation and curiosity. The highlight of the evening was opening fortune cookies, with residents taking turns to read their fortunes aloud, prompting smiles and laughter across the room.

Resident Jack commented, “What a lovely evening talking about Chinese culture and superstition.” It was a joyful celebration of tradition, learning, and the simple pleasure of spending time together.
