Daphne Shares Her Spinning Passion

When Companion Elaine noticed some beautiful artwork and a spinning wheel in Daphne’s room, a simple conversation revealed Daphne’s lifelong passion for this wonderful craft.
Daphne, a former art and textiles teacher with a wealth of knowledge, hesitantly agreed to give a talk and demonstration for the other residents. We gathered an impressive array of her materials and creations to display in the activity room, and the event quickly drew a curious and enthusiastic crowd.
Residents were delighted to handle the different fibres Daphne brought along — including camel, alpaca, angora, mohair, silk, and of course, sheep fleece. They also loved browsing through her photo album, which showcased her completed works and the inspiration behind them.
Although Daphne admitted to feeling nervous beforehand, she later shared that she thoroughly enjoyed the experience — and so did everyone who attended!
