Linden House celebrates World Happiness Day in the community

Linden House residents and staff brought smiles to the local community today with a special celebration ahead of Happiness Day.

Opting to mark the occasion a day early, the team ventured into Lymington town centre to spread kindness and joy, making meaningful connections along the way.

Led by new Companionship Team Leader Sian, alongside Companion Chelsea and enthusiastic residents Jane and Liz, the group handed out small bouquets of daffodils. Each bouquet carried a handwritten message of happiness, shared with those who continue to support Linden House and as delightful random acts of kindness to members of the public.

“It was evident that this small gesture brought a lot of joy and smiles to the community, as well as to our residents who thoroughly enjoyed sharing the flowers,” said Sian.

This initiative marks one of the first community outreach projects under the leadership of the new Companionship Team Leader, who was recently promoted from her role as Companion at Linden House’s sister home, Woodpeckers in Brockenhurst.

“I’m dedicated to raising the profile of Linden House both within the home and in the wider community,” Sian explained. Collaborating closely with Lynne, the Customer Support Advisor for both Linden House and Woodpeckers, has been great; we hope we’ll bring a touch of our signature magic to every initiative.”

The team made stops to Lymington Community Centre, St Barbe Museum, Boots Pharmacy, the Royal British Legion Lymington, the British Red Cross, and Truffles as an expression of thanks for their ongoing support.

Sian said: “We want to extend a special thanks to the members of the public who welcomed the opportunity to share a smile and engage with the residents.”
