Intergenerational joy as Linden House visits local school for Easter Egg-stravaganza

Residents from Linden House enjoyed an entertaining afternoon as they joined pupils and staff at Lymington Infant School for the school’s annual community Easter party.
Accompanied by members of the Companionship Team and Home Manager, Priya Joseph, the residents received a warm welcome, complete with tea and hot cross buns. The festivities began with a delightful Easter bonnet parade, where children proudly showcased their creatively decorated hats. Residents were impressed by the standard of decoration, with many remarking on their personal favourites.

In addition to the parade, the children treated their guests to a selection of songs and shared stories of their recent trip to Longdown Activity Farm, where they had the opportunity to meet a variety of animals.
Later in the afternoon, some of the older pupils joined the residents at their tables to create Easter cards together. The crafting session saw residents enthusiastically painting while the children assisted with cutting and gluing. Each resident was able to take their handmade card home as a keepsake from the day.
Companionship Team Leader Sian Harris commented: “Intergenerational relationships are crucial because they foster understanding, combat isolation, and offer valuable learning opportunities for all ages, strengthening communities and promoting well-being.”
