Linden House hosts whimsical wonderland tea party for Easter and National Tea Day

21 April 2025

Residents at Linden House care home in Lymington enjoyed a magical celebration over the Easter weekend as the home was transformed into a whimsical wonderland for Alice’s Easter Tea Party.

Held on Sunday 21st April to coincide with National Tea Day, the event brought together residents, staff, and families for an afternoon of imaginative fun, themed around Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland. Members of the Companionship Team, supported by Care Staff Assistants, dressed up as beloved characters from the classic tale, including Alice, the Mad Hatter, the Queen of Hearts, and of course, the ever-rushed White Rabbit.

The conservatory was beautifully decorated to bring the story to life, with themed treats labelled “Eat Me” and refreshments labelled “Drink Me” served throughout the party.

Adding to the occasion, local business The New Forest Tea Company kindly donated their popular “Brockenhurst Breakfast” tea for guests to enjoy.

Guests were encouraged to wear costumes to join in the fun, and a highlight of the afternoon was a lively Easter egg hunt, energetically led by the White Rabbit, much to the delight of residents and their visiting families.

The Easter Tombola was also drawn during the event, raising an impressive £170 for the home’s chosen charity of the year.

Companionship Team Leader Sian Harris praised the event as “a joyful success, with residents saying it was a truly wonderful way to celebrate both Easter and their love of a good cup of tea.”
