Linden House Helps New Forest Families In Need

10 October 2025

Residents and team members from Linden House Dementia Care Home in Lymington have proudly joined forces with Brockenhurst Young Farmers and The Lymington Centre to support local families in need through a food and essentials collection for the New Forest Basics Bank.

The initiative saw donations of tinned goods, household essentials, and store cupboard staples gathered from the community before being presented to the food bank on Sunday. Residents from Linden House were invited to the Lymington Centre to help hand over the items β€” and were delighted by a surprise visit from the Young Farmers, who arrived in style with their tractors.

The sight of the tractors sparked conversations among the thrilled residents about farming and countryside life.

Speaking after the event, Companionship Team Leader Sian said:

β€œIt was such a heartwarming afternoon and a real reminder of the power of community. Our residents loved meeting the Young Farmers and seeing the tractors up close. Supporting such a worthwhile cause made the day even more special.”

The New Forest Basics Bank expressed its gratitude to everyone involved, highlighting how community partnerships like this make a real difference for local families facing hardship.
