Linden House Launches Multi-Generational Project with Local School

28 October 2025

Linden House is preparing to welcome a group of Year 2 pupils from Lymington Church of England Infant School for a new multi-generational project.

In advance of the visits, Companionship Team Leader Sian visited the school with fellow Companion Freya and Customer Support Advisor Lynn to introduce the children to life in a dementia care home. Speaking to 60 pupils aged six and seven, Sian explained her role: “I’m a helper in a very special home. We are kind, we look at old memories, we have lots of fun, and we never forget that our residents are wonderful people.”

The children were able to ask questions about the care home and learn what to expect during their visits, helping them feel comfortable and prepared.

The first visit will take place during the Linden House Pumpkin Party, with regular sessions planned on Monday afternoons during term time for crafting and singing activities.

Sian said, “It’s a fantastic opportunity for our residents and the children to connect. These visits help the children understand more about older people and provide our residents with meaningful social interaction.”
