Our Gardens

At Colten Care, we pride ourselves on our beautiful and stimulating gardens. We recognise that many of our residents had such gardens themselves, and that gardening may have been a special pastime for them. We like to think that we can offer residents the opportunity to continue that pastime in whatever way they feel appropriate.

Whether you enjoy walking amongst the blossoming buds, or just simply wish to keep a watchful eye on the sparrows and squirrels, we hope you find a piece of the garden to make your own.

"One of the best aspects of Linden House's garden is how it is specifically designed for dementia residents, with areas like the rose walk and putting green that are all designed with resident interaction in mind.

The residents are key to every aspects of the job and is one of the best parts of it, as each day is very different and very rewarding.

Garden clubs are done on a regular basis as a way of getting the residents involved as much as possible. It also helps give them ownership of their garden and get them outside. This is made all the easier with the support of the activity team, who I work closely with, as well as the head gardener, Charles."
