Families at Linden House are supported by Colten Care’s in-house Admiral Nurse, working in partnership with Dementia UK. An Admiral Nurse is a registered nurse specialising in dementia care. The role provides expert advice, explanation and reassurance for families and colleagues within the home, helping everyone feel clearer and more confident as dementia changes over time.
This support sits alongside the day-to-day care already delivered at Linden House and strengthens the conversations and decisions taking place within the home.
Open access for families
Families do not need a referral and do not need to wait for a particular concern.
If you would value additional understanding, reassurance or the opportunity to talk something through, you can ask to speak with our Admiral Nurse at any stage. Conversations are practical, confidential and focused on what is happening now and what may help next.
Residents themselves may be involved where appropriate, alongside the home team.
Practical advice grounded in dementia expertise
Families speak with our Admiral Nurse for many reasons, including:
Advice is tailored to the individual and informed by dementia nursing knowledge. The aim is to bring clarity and steady explanation, so families feel supported and well informed.
Additional expertise within a consistent team
Families are supported day to day by the team at Linden House. Admiral Nurse input builds on that foundation, offering deeper dementia nursing insight when it would be helpful.
Care continues to be delivered by the team who know the person well, with additional expertise available to support clear and confident decision-making. This ensures that advice is grounded in the resident’s daily experience and current health needs.
