Coronation Celebrations

9 May 2023

The stage was set with meters of bunting and an enormous arch of red, white, and blue balloons towering over six feet tall.

Union jack balloons were evenly spaced around the hall, creating an exciting and anticipatory atmosphere as residents and visitors entered and took their seats.

Guests commented on the beautiful decorations, admiring the effort put into setting up. Everyone received a union jack to wave and a red, white, and blue hat to wear. With the arrival of Brian, the pianist, the party began, and guests enjoyed patriotic songs from the 1940s to the 1970s, waving flags, singing, clapping, and even dancing in their seats.

At 3 pm, Brian took a short break, allowing everyone to enjoy a glass of Pimm’s and Chef Steve’s delicious afternoon tea. Sadly, at 4 pm, the party ended with a final song, the famous “We’ll Meet Again” by Vera Lynne.

As they left the hall, everyone agreed that the afternoon had been a great success and looked forward to the next party.
