Finding Comfort and Confidence at Linden

7 January 2026

Settling into a new home can feel unfamiliar and unsettling, particularly for people living with dementia.

For Catharina — known affectionately as Toos — those early days brought understandable uncertainty. With gentle reassurance and creativity, our companionship team focused on what matters most: familiarity, connection and trust.

Toos soon found comfort in the company of Moxie, our much-loved companion dog, enjoying calm walks around the home.

It was Moxie who helped guide her towards one of our Love to Move sessions. Supported by companions Sian and Freya, Toos joined in at her own pace — first listening, then singing, and finally enjoying a small dance. A quiet milestone that led to a contented, settled evening.
