The Final Practice

One overcast afternoon, when it looked like it might rain, Linden Voices gathered in the lounge to practice their singing in readiness for our performance at the bandstand.

Once comfortably seated, we gently exercised first our bodies and then our voices by practicing our scales, and finally ending with several tongue twisters which had everybody laughing.

Very soon, beautiful voices singing in harmony could be heard drifting along the corridor. From their vast repertoire, several songs were chosen to practice; – Tulips from Amsterdam, Country Roads, Molly Malone, Sing, and many more, ending with a sea shanty – What Shall We Do with a Drunken Sailor.

At the end of the afternoon The Linden Voices felt that the practice had been a success, and they were ready to meet their public.
