What Would You Call Yours?

Although the weather wasn’t particularly hot, it was muggy with a strong warm wind blowing and because everybody enjoys ice cream, we thought that it would make a change to try something different.

Something that perhaps we hadn’t tried before – ice cream sodas but instead of using soda water it was unanimously decided to use lemonade. After placing a scoop of ice cream in each sundae glass, lemonade was gradually added frothing to the top of the glass and threatening to overflow, then topped with a generous squirt of cream, a straw and a cocktail umbrella.

A discussion took place about ice cream whilst the ice cream sodas were enjoyed. Ice cream sodas or floats were first invented in October 1874 and called soda jerks, but whatever we decide to call them it was unanimously decided they were delicious.
