24/7 DEMENTIA & NURSING CARE

The residents of St Catherines View, and every home in the Colten Care family, benefit from having Colten Care employed nurses on-site at all times, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Our residents enjoy their homely surroundings, vibrant atmosphere and beautiful gardens safe in the knowledge that should they require nursing assistance at any time of the day or night, it’s not only available immediately, it’s provided by nurses they know, and who know them.

We believe this comprehensive approach is essential to deliver the best possible care for our residents, to give reassurance to their loved ones, and to ensure continuity of care should their care needs increase over time.

We also provide access to an Admiral Nurse, a specialist dementia care nurse who gives expert practical, clinical and emotional support to families facing the challenges of dementia.

End Of Life

We want people to live well with us, making the most of every single day. If that means being together until the end of life, we want our residents to die well with dignity with family around, in familiar surroundings with staff they know well.

The words of our residents and relatives say more than we ever could.

“My mother has been a happy resident for about 5 years , which naturally includes the dreadful Covid period , a very traumatic time for us all. Not least for the staff and Management. The Social Outings and in home events arranged by the excellent Activities Team are to be applauded ,they offer so much pleasure to the residents and it is a great comfort ,as a daughter. I would very much appreciate it if my sentiments and grateful thanks could be shared with your wonderful team.”

“I am eternally grateful that we found St Catherines View for Mum. She has settled happily there, thanks to the efforts of everyone involved. All of the staff (and I really mean everyone) are so caring and kind and I feel totally confident that she is being well looked after. I love the way they all greet her with warmth, a smile and her name when they see her. They keep in touch with us well and clearly value Mum and her quality of life. The system of smaller home groups within a larger home works really well for Mum, giving her a safe, manageable space within the wider community. The gardens are beautiful, well kept and provide wonderful stimulation for people with dementia. It has been really helpful to be able to visit at any time and the staff are always helpful and accommodating.”

The words of our residents and relatives say more than we ever could.

“I am writing to express my sincere thanks for the wonderful care St Catherine’s provided to my mother for over 5 years. After several years of living alone and with onset Alzheimer’s she had become physically and mentally diminished and my sister and I agreed that moving into care was the only sensible option. How glad we were to have chosen St Catherines. From the day she moved in all the staff treated her with kindness and respect and worked hard to create an environment where she felt safe. Knowing that Mum was in the very best place took away all the anxiety and worry that we had been feeling when she had been living alone and as time went by we were pleased to see that her quality of life improved significantly too. The staff at St Catherines do far more then provide a safe and stable environment for those under their care. They provide a home and a life. There were a number of times when I visited and found Mum in the lounge either singing or dancing with her walker, encouraging others to join her. The care provided in her final days was exemplary and offered her great dignity as has been the case throughout her time in your home. I am sure my late sister would agree with me when I say we owe all the staff at your home a great debt of thanks. I cannot single out any one member of staff for particular praise as there have been so many who showed mum great kindness and who genuinely cared. I am comforted with the fat her final years were as good as they could be. Thank you.”

“My mother had been in St. Catherines View for four and a half years, where her care had been kind and caring. Her developing health issues from April were managed in a way we would all want for our elderly relatives. But, the care in my mother’s last few days was beyond everything we could have wished for. The kindness and constant attention helped me too and, in fact, in the end all was calm and all was easy. Thank you.”

“Accommodated in a modern purpose-built complex, St Catherines View offers the best possible environment for the provision of excellent dementia care. Medical care benefits from having nurses onsite 24-7. Liaison with GPs and the hospital is seamless. Food is cooked from scratch onsite. It is first-class. Full-time activity staff motivate residents and day trips feature. The quality of management and staff alike is unrivalled. From reception staff to nurses, carers and cleaners, they are, without exception, professional, polite and totally trustworthy. A splendid example of teamwork, professional development is encouraged, and staff turnover is low. I cannot recommend St Catherines View highly enough.”

“My father was a resident of St Catherines View for over nineteen months. Living only a short walk from the home, I was able to visit him many times and become acquainted with the staff whom I found to be professional, friendly and very caring. The home was well-appointed and comfortable. I believe that my father could not have spent his final months in a better place. My brother and I were very happy with every aspect of St Catherines View.”
