We were the headline sponsor of the Taste of Dorset Awards for the eighth year running. We believe that wholesome, nutritious and well-balanced food and drink is an essential part of the care we provide. It is critical to our well-being in so many ways but should also be a pleasure in itself. With a passion for skilfully crafted and beautifully presented meals, our support for Taste of Dorset reflects our recognition of all those individuals, businesses and organisations involved in local food production.
Across our 21 homes, our residents can expect three homemade meals every day along with elevenses, pre-lunch wine and sherry. A glass of locally brewed real ale, afternoon tea with homemade cakes and a nightcap also come as standard. Coffee, tea, biscuits, fresh fruit, homemade soup and snacks are available 24 hours a day. Residents can choose to enjoy their meals in our elegant, well-appointed and friendly dining rooms, the comfort and privacy of their own room or with guests in a private dining room. To maintain our high standards, our Hotel Services Managers give continual advice and support to all our chefs, encouraging an exchange of best ideas from home to home. We try wherever possible to source local ingredients for our homemade meals and so have built up extensive links with Dorset food suppliers. All the meals in our homes are developed around residents’ preferences and carefully prepared by experienced chefs and catering teams selected for their skill and imagination. Each chef has the freedom to create recipes he or she will cook daily and each enjoys working with residents, listening to and discussing their ideas. It’s been a natural move for us to continue our support for the awards this year because of a shared interest in promoting excellence in regional produce and cooking.
