Trip out to Wimborne Minister

Residents Valerie, Joan, Joyce, Brenda, Elizabeth and Jeanette had an evening out with team leader Sue and companion Cara, to attend A Christmas Festival with the Broadstone Community Concert Band Charity fundraiser at the Wimborne Minister. The church was decorated beautifully with Christmas trees. All money raised from ticket sales will go towards the ‘High Mead Farm’ and ‘Going for Bust’ charities. One of our nurses, Catherine Moyse was playing the trombone and joined the band a year ago. She practices every other week and finds the band helps her unwind from work and helps her general well-being. Catherine’s mum and sister came over to say hello and to say how thankful they were to us for attending. The crowd were treated to a performance playing songs like Cowboy Christmas which Elizabeth thought was marvellous, and Oh Come On Ye Faithful. Joan said, “I loved it and was dancing with my feet”. On the way home, Brenda said it was lovely to visit the Wimborne Minister again as she used to come here with her husband, “Lovely memories”. On the minibus trip home, team leader Sue got all the residents to sing Jingle Bells, with Brenda changing the words to, ‘help me all the way’, and laughing along with Elizabeth at the back of the bus.
