The Beauty of Handwritten Messages
The beauty of handwritten messages continues to bring joy to residents at The Aldbury, and our sister Dementia home, Fernhill.
Fernhill was the first to put pen to paper and has now received a response from The Aldbury. Companion Cara is enthusiastic about maintaining this activity because it helps improve writing skills, memory, dexterity, emotional well-being, and social interaction among our residents.
One resident, Joyce, was particularly delighted to receive a card from Gwen at Fernhill. She said, “I’m so happy she chose me to be her pen pal friend. We enjoy hearing about what she has been up to, and she even invited me to lunch.”
Brenda also enjoys it when we read to her about June’s experiences, especially her time spent in the garden at Fernhill. We hope to arrange a meeting between the pen pals in the near future.
