A Trip Out On The Water

26 June 2023

Residents and staff had a delightful day out on a boat, exploring Poole Harbour, the second largest natural harbour in the world.

Everyone prepared for the outing by donning their summer hats and applying sunscreen. Chris was particularly proud of his straw hat and jokingly called himself the captain of the boat. Maurice got everyone in the seaside mood by singing sea shanties and other maritime tunes as we set off. Tina reminisced about her time in New York, saying that the harbor reminded her of it.

During the boat trip, Chris was pleasantly surprised to spot a seal swimming nearby, which brought joy to the whole group. The crew, including skipper Martin, first mate Jane, and Kevin as crew, were friendly and helpful throughout the journey. Hobi was excited to explore the souvenirs with Companion Mel and chose to bring back postcards and fudge for the residents at The Aldbury.

Overall, it was a fantastic day out, and the residents and staff extend a big thank you to all the staff and volunteers from Friends of The Dolphin for making the Dolphin III boat trip possible!
