Adventures at Sea

26 June 2024

It was a beautiful sunny day, perfect for an adventure at sea.

We shared the dolphin boat trip with Fernhill. The crew members introduced themselves, and one crew member gave a talk on some of the landmarks.

The crew refers to the islands as BFG: Brownsea Island, Furzey Island, and Green Island. Valerie really enjoyed the trip, saying, “This trip is more than wonderful.” The crew and residents sang “We all like to be beside the harbour….”

Stella and Valerie enjoyed the sea breeze blowing through the boat while tucking into a beautiful, delicious picnic with plenty of water and juice. Stella said, “A brilliant day,” and Pip said she liked the breeze as she looked out at sea.

The crew said if you hear the skipper shout “wash” or “wave,” it means another boat is driving by and the boat will rock; “wash” means the splash of the wave coming into the boat. Lots of laughter filled the boat, and we were even lucky enough to see a seal bobbing his head in and out of the water at a distance. Afterwards, Fernhill met us at Baiter Park for refreshments on the minibuses.
