Bowled Over
Residents Joyce, Pip, and Stella used to be part of a local bowling club.
They all wished to play bowls again, and today their wishes came true. Companion Team Leader Sue and Companion Melissa took the residents to our local bowling alley, Bowlplex in Branksome.
Stella’s daughter and son joined us too, which was great. “We are ever so pleased to see Mum playing and bowling again!” they exclaimed. “We never thought she could play again after all these years!” they added.
Pip was the master bowler, using her water bottle to push the ball. She chose Smurfette as her bowler’s name and won with 84 points! Joyce and Hobi also did very well, each scoring a good pocket hit that knocked down 8 pins.
“I have had a wonderful afternoon. Thank you for making my wish come true!” Stella exclaimed. What a great afternoon—we were all bowled over!
