Brian’s Wish Came True!
A little while ago Brian said to companion Melissa “I would like to watch the steam train that connects Norden to Swanage”
Brian worked on the railways in London and in Bournemouth connecting trains in the depot.
So Brian went with residents Stella, Jeanette, Gwendoline, and Companions Melissa and Pauline and not forgetting driver Martin. It was a lovely day, we ventured through the historic market town of Wareham, then to Norden Railway Station. We saw the 1000-year-old Corfe Castle on the journey, and ended up driving to Swanage to see the beaches of Studland Bay, it was definitely the scenic route. The first stop was Norden Railway Station to see one of the steam trains. “ I loved visiting Swanage with mum and dad. As a child, we would wait and watch the steam train pull into the station and I loved to see the steam race out of the funnel” exclaimed Brian. It was a pleasure to see Brian’s face as the train pulled into the station. The porter came to ask him if he wanted to board the train. Brian looked up at the porter and gave one big smile! We carried on our trip to Swanage where we stopped for Fish & Chips, which provoked lots of memories for us all. We took the route back across to Sandbanks via the chain ferry to get home, which was great fun. We all had a wonderful day and look forward to our next adventure.
