Celebration Of Song
We were invited to a sing-along afternoon and cream tea at Fernhill Care Home.
This garden performance began after lockdown, and this is the third year we have achieved this, naming it Celebration of Song. Our Music Arts Partner, Fiona Pritchard, created a song list with some old-time favourites like Elvis Presley and Cliff Richard’s “Living Doll” and “Summer Holiday.”
The sun shone, and everyone enjoyed the beautiful garden while singing along. Residents from Fernhill were very friendly and came to chat with our residents Tony, Elizabeth, Mary, and Cynthia. Resident Rob happily shared his songbook with Companion Pauline, saying, “We are having a lovely afternoon.” Elizabeth exclaimed, “It is lovely to come over and share a sing-along with such friendly people.” Tony remembered he had been to Fernhill before and said, “They are always very welcoming and accommodating here.”
The chef prepared chocolate eclairs and scones, which we enjoyed with cream and jam. What a lovely afternoon! A big thanks to Fiona for arranging it, and a special thank you to our residents, who sang beautifully!
