Chinese New Year

As it is Chinese New Year, the year of the Rabbit, residents were supported making Chinese Lanterns.

Joan & Jeanette tackled the quite hard threaded system. “Just beautiful”, said Beryl when they held them up.  All residents and staff were greeted with a fortune cookie washed down with a traditional cup of Jasmin Tea while Chinese music was playing in the background. Residents learnt how to draw their names in Chinese, Gwendolyne took great care in filling hers out, asking for the finished paper to be put on her bedroom wall. This was a great celebration, promoting awareness of another culture and providing stimulation through our planned activities.
