Cynthia’s wish to visit Nick’s Farm
Today, Cynthia, Joyce and Terry took a scenic bus trip to Nick’s Farm, near Throop, Bournemouth.
Nick’s Farm is a family-run farm created for the owner’s brother, Nick, who is autistic. Each week, the farm is closed to the public for one day so that Nick can enjoy it with his friends in small groups, as he does not like big crowds.
You can see the many different farm animals, including guinea pigs, cats, giant rabbits, hens, sheep, goats, pigs and piglets, peacocks, horses, ponies, chickens, cows, and alpacas.
Terry said, “The elephants will be arriving soon!”
We enjoyed a large, delicious picnic in an area that overlooks the animal enclosures. The farmer allowed the alpacas to run free in the picnic area for the fun and enjoyment of all, with many visitors taking photos of themselves with the animals. Most of the animals could be hand-fed. Joyce said, “It’s lovely to be here surrounded by lovely people and animals.”
