Elvis Presley Celebrations

We celebrated the songs of Elvis Presley on his birthday. 

He was born on this day in 1935 which means he would have been 88 years young, had he lived. Jean loved reminiscing about how she was a teenager during his career, screaming at his performances on TV. Frank requested ‘In The Ghetto’ as his favourite Elvis song, with Joyce choosing ‘Love Me Tender and Joan wanting Jailhouse Rock to dance to. After hearing some Elvis facts, we heard some Elvis puns, such as “My favourite Elvis track is the one about baking cakes, In The Gateau”, making everyone laugh. “These are as bad as cracker jokes”, said Peter. After dancing to a few more favourite hits, everyone queued up to have their photo taken with the man himself. Great fun celebrating the king of roll and roll.
