National Tree Dressing Day
Tree Dressing Day occurs annually on the first weekend in December.
It celebrates the importance of trees and encourages us to value and care for them. Trees improve the quality of our air, they brighten and enhance our environment and provide shade from the hot sun. As well as all the good they do for wildlife, supporting many ecosystems. Companion Melissa asked the residents how the trees should be decorated and residents chose to use fallen leaves to make bunting and also some bird ornaments. Valerie said it would be nice to keep the decorations as natural as possible trying to avoid using any plastic and paper. ”Our trees want to look as natural as they can be, decorated with their own fallen leaves!”
