Our First Minibus Outing of 2024

5 January 2024

Driver Martin took us out and about on a scenic drive to Ham Common’s Nature Reserve & Lake Pier in Hamworthy, Poole.

It was a cloudy morning, and the rain started just as we arrived at Ham Common’s Lookout.

Valerie, Margaret, and Jeanette began to sing “Singing In The Rain” and “The Sun it’s got it’s Hat On”.

Luckily, the sun did come out a little later while we were playing ‘I Spy With My Little Eye’ and having a cuppa, with biscuits.

“I really enjoyed the drive,” exclaimed Jeanette. She also recognized most of the local gems; she remembered previously going to Ham Common’s Lookout and taking photos next to the sign and Osprey carving.

She thanked driver Martin and Companion Melissa for taking her to some of her favourite places.

The outing brought back good memories, including some fond memories of her Girl Scouting Days on Brownsea Island. Jean exclaimed, “Isn’t it gorgeous out there! We couldn’t have chosen a better day for our minibus trip. The sun is shining after all the rain we’ve had over the last week.”
