Papercraft afternoon.

28 January 2023

Barbara came to the activity and joined me to have ago at cutting and sticking some pictures.

This is called ‘wycinanki’ (pronounced vee-chee-non-kee) which is a traditional Polish folk art of paper folding and cutting. We had three styles to choose from and then decided on two shapes, Barbara cut some of the pictures out with the scissors. After we had a nice clean cut we opened the design and got some red cards that we stuck and placed the design on the red card which made it look like a coat of arms which we said was amazing. With the next shape we choose a flower, Barbara continued to cut out the shape and I tore up some green tissue paper so we could stick on the leaves to make it stand out more. Barbara wanted to have a heart shape on the flower, we added the cut-out onto the yellow card to make it all look sharper. As you can see in the pictures, they both look very nice.
