Remembrance Sunday

13 November 2022

Residents and staff paid tribute to the service and sacrifice of all those that have defended our freedoms and protected our way of life.

The residents have been making their own red poppies this week using transparent inject film art, and colouring in the poppy design with sharpies. These poppies were cut out and stuck to the lounge windows so the sun could shine through, and a beautiful red light reflected into the rooms. We gathered the residents together, making sure everyone was wearing a poppy, “I look very smart” said Frank and after a moving coverage of the ceremony on BBC 1 we observed the two-minute silence and then chatted about our experiences of war. “It was the rations that you remember most,” said Beryl.
