Resin Art

The residents tried out a new project with epoxy resin, and we were delighted with the results.
Beryl liked her resin letters, spelling her name and said, “they will go lovely on my dressing table.”
We all chose our silicone mould and placed some flowers pressed from the garden combined with some fake ones. Mixing resin and hardener together, we then poured it into our chosen moulds. The hardest task of this activity is waiting 12-24 hours for it to cure, this then becomes scratch and heat resistant. Curing time is the time that the resin and hardener goes through a chemical reaction to form to solid.
Beryl and Jeanette also created a lovely coaster each. “I can’t wait to have a cuppa now” exclaimed Beryl.
I reminded her of the curing time which we all laughed at. Great new activity to carry out, with lots of different moulds to work with. What will be our next creation?
