Residents here are going to be creating a retro tuck shop.

This will be where we have a supply of chocolate and sweets available for residents for movie nights and social times that were available back in the 50s This afternoon was a time for reflection and to source what to get in stock! Joy Talked about remembering how her mother used to save some of their ration coupons to spend on chocolate as a treat during the war for her and her siblings. We looked at chocolate bars from the 1940s, 1950s and 1960s. Most residents remembered Cadburys as their familiar favourite chocolate brand. Our resident who is 101 years old voiced her favourite was fry’s chocolate cream bar and said she liked the soft centre flavours. This is the world’s oldest chocolate bar brand – introduced in 1866 which is 156 years ago!
