Sensory Dance Scarf Therapy

After a difficult morning for the nursing team.

The residents and companion team decided some TLC was needed to say thank you for all the hard work and care they give the home. After learning our nurse Catherine’s favourite song was the Golden Girls theme tune, “Thank you for being a friend” we practised singing, swaying our dance scarves along to the music, creating an exercise for a nice body warm up too. We decided to tie the scarves together to create a rainbow of care, uniting us all in the home and invited Catherine and the staff in so we could sing to them. We sang the song twice as everyone enjoyed it so much. After the staff had gone back to work, we carried on our singing, swaying our scarves and finishing to Rod Stewart’s “We are Sailing”. We all felt we had all had tender loving care.
