Tommy Steele Concert

Tina’s wish was to see Tommy Steele in concert again.

Tina told us about when she saw Tommy Steele at Bournemouth Pavillion Theatre, and he spilt his trousers on stage whilst performing. Companion Cara researched the concert and found the original poster of the Tommy Steel Concert Tour 1958 at Bournemouth Winter Gardens on Monday 4th August. He was touring with The Three Martins, Joe Church and The Ken-Tones. We re-created the venue with original posters and photographs and relive the concert through Tommy Steele DVDs and memorabilia. Tina was really excited about this as he is one of her favourite performers and memories. She said, “Even my dad loved him, parents and teenagers were queuing to see him perform”. When Tommy spilt his pants she said, “due to her having such a loud laugh, I didn’t know which way to run until I realised Tommy was laughing too.” Talking about the concert Tina said, “my heart was pounding, hoping I would get into the concert.” She managed to get a seat in the stalls and said she remembers thinking that she would remember this experience forever. Tina was smiling and singing along to the soundtrack, “he’s still good-looking,” she laughed.
