Wear It Pink
We recently ‘wore it pink’ and raised £105 to help make life-saving breast cancer research and vital support happen.
Breast Cancer Now’s wear it pink day is one of the biggest fundraising events in the UK. Taking place during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, thousands of amazing people wear it pink in their communities, schools or work places for the UK’s largest breast cancer charity, Breast Cancer Now. Here at The Aldbury, we had a Mufti Day and Pink Cupcake Sale followed by a pink party in the afternoon with Pink Prosecco, cider and other refreshments and raspberries. Companions Pauline and Melissa dressed the ‘Pink’ fundraising trolley with helium balloons and pink accessories.
Residents and staff were all happy to wear pink. Tina said it’s her favourite colour and she’s so proud of wearing pink to raise money for a good cause.
Companion Melissa asked the residents if they could think of any songs to do with Pink. Joyce picked ‘Lilly The Pink’ and all residents started to sing along and sway to the beat of the music. Carol was surprised and roared with laughter when Brett ‘The Flamingo’ entered the room followed by a trolley full of pink delights including cakes and drinks. Valerie volunteered to walk round with the fundraising box for Breast Cancer Now.
