What a Fun and Successful World’s Biggest Coffee Day!
The Aldbury raised a total of £106 with fundraising games, homemade cupcakes and chocolate cake sale, ‘Guess The Weight of the Cake’ and ‘Mufti Day’.
More entertainment in the afternoon with Kevin and Jenny from Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra playing the french horn, keyboard and violin. They both played well known classical music and popular childhood songs like Run Rabbit Run. Mary Cooper, Elizabeth Kay and Win Clowerly really enjoyed singing and swaying along. Win carried on singing when the concert ended.
Thanks to our chef Izzi for baking 100 cupcakes, including the Golden Cupcake. Michael from the housekeeping team was the lucky one to find the golden filling in his cupcake! Congratulations to Michael who received a bottle of Bubbly and box of chocolates from Home Manager Sam Reid. Well done to Hairdresser Candy for guessing the weight of Cara’s homemade Lemon Drizzle! Thank you to Elvis from Maintenance team for your homemade non bake chocolate cakes. Resident Jean Sandoe said it’s too rich and delicious!
Resident Abdu “Hobi” Sabih helped Companion Melissa to push the Fundraising Cake Trolley around the home. Residents Joan Perrin, Maurice Campbell and Gren Braybrook couldn’t resist to try one of the cupcakes! Staff and resident’s relatives bought cakes to share with Team Aldbury and residents. Residents Brian Oakley and Win Clowerly were so happy to receive a cupcake! They both said it’s very tasty!
Big thanks to all! We couldn’t do it without you. All the money raised will help Macmillan Cancer Support to do whatever it takes to help people living with cancer live life as fully as they can.
