Our Gardens

At Colten Care, we pride ourselves on our beautiful and stimulating gardens. We recognise that many of our residents had such gardens themselves, and that gardening may have been a special pastime for them. We like to think that we can offer residents the opportunity to continue that pastime in whatever way they feel appropriate.

Whether you enjoy walking amongst the blossoming buds, or just simply wish to keep a watchful eye on the sparrows and squirrels, we hope you find a piece of the garden to make your own.

"Woodpeckers is located in the heart of the New Forest and its beautiful forest surroundings are one of its best features, along with its gardens and it's newly established woodland walk and allotment.

The appreciation of the gardens from both residents and relatives makes it very rewarding and adds to the friendly and homely atmosphere of Woodpeckers. This is made even better by the caring and friendly staff, who are very encouraging and inclusive of the residents and the garden.

It is a great garden to work in. Making the garden my own with all its recent changes, including the new beds and paths through the woodland and access to the allotment, makes me very proud to be its gardener".
