A Visit From Chichester University

12 April 2024

On Friday we enjoyed a visit from three students from Chichester University. Katie, Lottie, and Rosie are studying theatre, in their 3rd year.

They approached Wellington Grange to complete a module they are working on named applied arts, where they have chosen to participate in a project with our residents, within the next four weeks, they will be looking to celebrate the legacy of women/femineity.

This week Katie, Lottie and Rosie introduced themselves, explained what they were aiming to do over the next few weeks on their visits, they will be making a scrapbook celebrating the female resident’s lives, and what they have achieved over the years.

This week the students had written questions for the residents to ask. They were in a pink tea pot, that was passed around with lots of thought provoking questions such as, ‘what one piece of is advise you would give younger girls like us’ ‘who is your idol’ and ‘what is a compliment that has been given to you and you still think about.’

The questions really got us all thinking and created lots of discussions. We look forward to welcoming the students back next week, to get started on the scrapbooks. Residents have been asked to bring photos and things to talk about in their lives.

After the four weeks, the students want to finish with an afternoon tea party, to thank them and celebrate what they have done in their lives and leave the scrapbook for all to enjoy.
