Strictly Come Tea Dance for Children in Need

At our Strictly Come Tea Dance, Colten Care managed to raise an incredible £5000! We want to say a big ‘Thank you’ to all of those who participated and contributed to this amazing cause. Our residents had great fun strutting their stuff on the dance floor. We were joined by Lymington’s Mayor Anne Corbridge, and the voice of Alan Didcot!

Apologies, but until further notice, we are putting on hold all the usual community visits and events we host at our homes and restricting minibus trips for our residents.

Our Garden

We pride ourselves on our beautiful and stimulating gardens. We recognise that many of our residents had such gardens themselves, and that gardening may have been a special pastime for them. We like to think that we can offer residents the opportunity to continue that pastime in whatever way they feel appropriate.

Our Partnership with New Forest Hospital Radio

Our partnership with New Forest Hospital Radio allows our residents to have their own regular radio request show.

'Request Collectors' will visit the home on an allocated day every month. Then, using flash drives, we will download the specially-produced show onto portable, rechargeable stereo sets designed for ease of use for older people, ready for the residents to listen to at their leisure in the lounges or in the comfort of their own bedrooms.

Colten Champions

Every year, we celebrate the hard work and dedication of the team members across the Colten group who consistently deliver above and beyond expectations. Colleagues, residents, and their relatives can all put forward their nominations, before the finalists are invited to a glittering gala ceremony at Bournemouth's Highcliff Marriott Hotel, hosted by a celebrity guest!

Caring Without Plastic

Colten Care has become the first major provider in the UK's private care home sector to begin a group-wide reduction of single-use plastic. This is a significant move given the care sector's traditionally high use of plastic in clinical services, person-centred care and infection control.

Here at Woodpeckers, not only are we supporting all of the central initiatives, but we are also working closely with residents and relatives to seek other ways our home can reduce our consumption of plastic. If you have any ideas or suggestions which could help us in our plastic-free drive, please do get in touch.
