OUR NURSING CARE SETS US APART

We employ our own nurses

It is inevitable that, sooner or later, most elderly care residents will need nursing care, yet over the last decade, we have seen many care home operators move away from offering nursing care, relying instead on visiting community nurses.

At Woodpeckers, we have always believed that nursing is an intrinsic part of elderly care, and that as a care home, we have a moral obligation to provide our residents with whatever care they need, whenever they need it.

Reassurance 24 hours a day, seven days a week

You can’t put a price on peace of mind. We employ highly-skilled nurses to be on-site 24 hours a day, 7 days a week so that our residents can enjoy their homely surroundings, vibrant atmosphere and beautiful gardens with the reassurance that should they require nursing assistance at any time of the day or night, it’s not only available immediately, it’s provided by nurses they know, and who know them.

Your Care Services

Assisted Care

Our care teams assist with all aspects of daily living for our residents, from personal care to taking regular medications, working flexibly to promote independence providing support to maintain the physical care and comfort of residents.

Nursing Care

Woodpeckers nurses are available for all residents, at all times. We believe that’s the bedrock of a safe and happy home, providing nurse-led care to manage complex medical conditions, whilst ensuring all residents can stay within their familiar and comfortable home setting should their care needs change.

Residential Care

Our residential care service is designed to provide a comfortable and relaxed home environment where home maintenance, laundry, cooking and housekeeping are taken care of on your behalf.

Short Stay & Respite

We offer the same high quality care services enjoyed by our long-term residents on a short-term basis. Whether it’s for a short period of recovery, a respite break or simply a trial run for those looking for a permanent move, we offer a home from home where residents can live their life, their way.

Dementia Care

Although Woodpeckers is not a dementia home, we are committed to supporting our residents to live meaningful and fulfilled lives, and that includes those living with the earlier stages of dementia or cognitive impairment.

End Of Life

We want people to live well with us, making the most of every single day. If that means being together until the end of life, we want our residents to die well with dignity with family around, in familiar surroundings with staff they know well.

Wish you were here!

We aim to make every day worth writing about, and our residents enjoy keeping loved ones up to date with what they’ve been up to at Woodpeckers. Here are some of their recent highlights.

The words of our residents and relatives say more than we ever could.

“My sister always told me how safe and cared for she felt at Woodpeckers. Then, on the days before she passed, I myself felt your love and care. While you saw to her many needs, your staff were with me, too – real care in action! So, thank you all so much – you have created a true caring and understanding community for people like her and I.”

“To the staff at Woodpeckers, Brockenhurst -a huge thank you for inviting us to your evening for volunteers and for making us feel so welcome and valued. It was a really lovely evening – the food was absolutely delicious, the staff were all very welcoming, the gardens are delightful and the music completed a perfect setting. The lovely thank you card and key ring were the icing on the cake – the wording on the key ring brought a tear to my eye and is something I will treasure.Brockenhurst is so very blessed to have such a wonderful care home for their elderly residents. Only the other day, I met a lady who has had a short stay with you convalescing, and she said it was like staying in a 5* hotel so you and the team should be justly proud of all you do.It is also much appreciated the way you support village life – providing a pudding once a month for the lunches for the elderly held at the church hall and providing soup once a month for the Winter Warmer soup lunches are just a couple of examples. A huge thank you to all concerned.”

“We want to take this opportunity to thank you all so much for everything you have done and the care you gave to our beloved Mum/Nan. Whilst we grieve our loss, we take high comfort knowing she was safe and well cared for throughout her time with you. Not only did you care for her but you also cared for us as a family. Nothing was every too much- you are an amazing team, friendly and helpful. Never too short of a smile, or a cup of tea! Woodpeckers will always have a happy place in our hearts.”
