Cheque Presentation
Braemar Lodge participated in fundraising efforts over the past year for Guide Dogs.
Their hard work paid off as they were able to present a cheque of £1,400 to the charity. The residents were delighted at the opportunity to meet some of the Guide Dogs during a lovely afternoon event.
The charity representatives shared insights into how the funds raised contribute to their cause. Katy, a senior nurse at Salisbury District Hospital, is accompanied by Queenie everywhere she goes.
Justin, who works in IT from home, enjoys leisurely walks in Salisbury with Ned. Rick, a former Para-Olympian in skiing, collaborates with Help For Heroes to support visually impaired soldiers.
His dog Dilly, trained alongside Queenie, shares a special bond with him.
The donation will support the training and placement of guide dogs in the local area for a period of two years. Furthermore, it will aid in providing housing for retired guide dogs post-placement.
The group at Braemar Lodge was overjoyed to present the cheque to Guide Dogs, knowing it will make a meaningful impact on the lives of those assisted by the organisation.
