Produce Show

It was our turn as a home to host the Produce Show, for the season of Winter with the theme of Wildlife.

Much planning was done, by Sarah the Gardener, our Kitchen team, and the Companions.

We welcomed residents and staff from our sister homes Wellington Grange, Abbotts Barton and St Catherine’s View.

Our day began with refreshments in the library with some time for conversation and for people to get to know each other across the homes.

In the afternoon we held a Treasure Hunt.

This involved travelling around the home, where photos of birds and plants from the garden were posted.

Residents then had to identify them, give their Latin name if known, and write the letter and location of each.

The letters were an anagram to be worked out at the end. Everyone then gathered in the Garden Room for the answers, and prizes given for the top six scorers.

The three visiting homes also presented their produce show creations.

It was a very special day, and thanks go to all those who made the long journey to be here, and to the teams and residents at Braemar Lodge who welcomed everyone.
